The company, an important European healthcare provider and employer, extensively used the OpenText Extended ECM platform for various purposes: as a general DMS repository for documents, as well as a knowledge and information platform to manage contracts, science records, and to support accounting processes for patients.
The Challenge.
In response to the customer’s expanding organizational needs, there was a requirement to implement an Enterprise-Wide Calendar within Extended ECM that could effectively meet a comprehensive set of requirements. 

These requirements included the need for information to be easily displayed and shared through user-friendly dashboards, as well as the correct alignment of calendars with their respective departments. 

Additionally, it was essential for calendars and information to integrate with other applications and be readily accessible on board for all employees.

Soon enough, the customer realized that meeting these particular requirements would prove to be quite challenging with the platform's standard functionality alone.

Key Points.
Module Suite facilitated the creation of visually appealing and user-friendly dashboards and interfaces on SmartUI. These interfaces efficiently presented and shared information and updates about upcoming events, such as medical congresses and department meetings etc.
By leveraging Module Suite’s workflow enhancing capabilities, the customer was able to add powerful features to its workflows, reducing the number of steps required, minimizing testing efforts, while incorporating the necessary logic for complex workflows.
The calendars were also integrated with external applications, ensuring a seamless UX. The provision of E-Mail templates and the ability to programmatically generate various document types, such as PDFs and Office documents like Word and Excel, added another layer of versatility.

The potential platform was further maximized with the implementation of other micro-applications, such as Workflow for Document SOPs, Business Card Request, Private Phone Numbers Management, Electronic Laboratory Notebook etc.
